As every collector knows, catalogs provide a wealth of information about historic documents including provenance, monetary values and much more. Some catalogs, such as those issued by the venerable Walter Benjamin and his daughter Mary, included short articles and news that provided keen insight to the world of manuscript which are still beneficial to today’s collector.
Catalogs that will be offered include
the earliest ones (1887-1888) issued by Walter Benjamin
those issued by Mary Benjamin;
an impressive run of Charles Hamilton catalogs;
The Flying Quill: Autographs at Goodspeed’s and The Month at Goodspeed’s;
Stan V. Henkels catalogs including one from 1893 describing Revolutionary War items and relics of General George Washington;
a large quantity of Rendell catalogs;
over 30 catalogs issued by the late Joseph Rubinfine;
several catalogs by the Jenkins Company;
catalogs from small-to medium-size dealers, such as Robert Batchelder, Emily Driscoll, Lone Star Autographs, Paul Richards, Seaport Autographs; and others.
